Sarah,

Twitter is a great application for those of us on the go, especially if you have it installed into your phone!

Also, I'm really sorry for getting your name wrong. Don't know what I was thinking.

Tiffany,

I feel like your advice is applicable to all social networking sites. Any excessive promotion is an instant turnoff to readers. Social networking is about relationships. Relationships are cultivated on social networking sites by providing readers with relevant content. It's a give and take relationship that focuses on the 'give' and has comparatively fewer opportunities to 'take.' But those relationships are extremely vital to the success of a client, a company, or a blog.

I also enjoy Twitter. It gives me a chance to keep my friendships with people no matter how busy or far away they are. As public relations practitioners we may not have time to chat on the phone but we always have time to tweet!

Bryan,

Thank you for your insightful review of Twitter. One reason I use Twitter is to drive traffic to my blog and to my students' blogs. Of course, you don't want to solely promote yourself and others' blogs. It's a good opportunity to get to know people on a personal level as well.
